Managed billing pays for optional hosted services when enabled on a deployment. It is disabled on the current testnet setup. A subscription does not add a mandatory annual Soran ownership fee to the naming contracts.

Separate costs

Owners can make public username claims free or set a flat native XLM price. They may also offer commercial or finite-term names under their own disclosed policies.

Managed services

When enabled, the billing model can charge a yearly base amount plus a rate for names marked active by the hosted service. The operator sets prices and the invoice’s USD/XLM conversion. Review the current quote. A hosted active/cold label measures dormancy, not on-chain storage availability. A subscription can cover platform-operated issuance and relays, branding, new webhooks and directory reach. Existing webhook deliveries and signing-secret rotation remain available even when creating new subscriptions is restricted.

Pay an invoice

  1. Create an invoice and review its receiving account, native XLM amount and unique hash memo.
  2. Send the quoted amount in one payment with that exact hash memo. The payer can be someone other than the namespace owner.
  3. Check the invoice status after payment. Matching depends on the payment watcher, so an update may take time.
If the quote has expired, request a fresh invoice before paying. Use the invoice’s own instructions for this payment, rather than a name lookup or namespace claim escrow address.

Ownership transfers and re-attestation

Hosted service access is tied to the namespace owner. A namespace transfer can place it in suspended_transfer. The new owner must re-attest in the console to resume any remaining service time. Paying another invoice does not lift this suspension. Other states include active and lapsed.

Non-payment

A lapsed subscription can restrict hosted relays, branding, creation of new webhooks and directory reach. It does not revoke the on-chain namespace or alter a name’s contract expiry. Self-custody contract operations remain available with the required signer and network fees. Name resolution still needs valid records and accessible on-chain storage. A timed name’s expiry follows the namespace policy independently of the hosted subscription.
